House of ?

A dream that I had sometime in the early 90s. I think I had this dream 3-4 times.

I am in a house in a small middle-class neighborhood in south Louisiana. There are lots of pine trees in the yard. Inside, the house is dimly lit. The are a dark red, burgundy, I think. Dark curtains cover the windows. People are smoking all around, though I cannot smell the foul odor of nicotine. There are many rooms in this house. In one of the rooms, several people are shooting pool. As I go further into this house, everything in me is screaming to turn around and leave.. but I cannot. I have to find her and save her before it is too late. As I enter deeper into this house, I am soon horrified. People are performing all kinds of carnal acts. I cannot see what they are doing, yet I KNOW what they are doing and they don't seem to care that there is another person among them. Finally I enter this room that is barely lit. People are passed out all around, on everything and anything possible. I start examining the faces, hoping to find HER. Praying that it isn't too late. Finally, I see her. She is so out of it and when I try to help her stand, she is as limp as a rag doll. A man soon approaches and tells me that she belongs to them now. That I must say my good byes and leave immediately.
My heart is broken. This is my best friend! How could this horrible fate have happened to her? I lean down and whisper in her ear, "It isn't too late, come with me".  She looks at me with glazed, vacant eyes.

This is where I would wake...

A Dream or a Visit?

Several days ago, Kaylan was telling me about one of the dreams that she had the previous night. In the dream, she saw her Grandma (my mom). With Grandma was a little girl who had blonde hair. This little girl looked to be 12-13 years of age. Kaylan said that she asked Grandma who the little girl was, and was told that this was her baby sister.

I've tried to verify the information with Kaylan as I typed this up.. she has no memory of telling me this. When she initially told me the dream, she had only JUST awoken.

Was this a dream?  Did she really see my Mom? Is the little girl the baby that was lost in the Ectopic pregnancy?

My mother wanted more grandchildren. It helps soothe my heart (a tiny bit) thinking that perhaps she is finally able to spend time with the grandchild that was lost such a long time ago.
2008 07 24 Dream from last night

In the dream, I had gone to visit Barbara, who was living in Mississippi somewhere. Apparently something had happened and the girls and I lost our home. Everything we owned was in an old red dodge van. After staying with Barbara for a few days, the social services came, and they actually GAVE us a piece of land and a trailer to live in (not a dingy small one, but a nice sized one that is livable). After staying in this nice new trailer for a short period of time, social services came back, and offered Krissie her OWN land and trailer, being that she was 18. She was more than happy to accept. So Krissie moved down the street a short distance.
My dad came to visit, and when I hugged him, I started crying uncontrollably. It was so lovely to see him! The people in the area that we now lived, seemed to know who my dad was!

Then, in the dream, myself and a group of others were in some type of flying machine, not an airplane, and not a helicopter. This one little girl who was holding an even younger child, behind me did not have a seatbelt, and I remember that I was stressing over her lack of seatbelt during the flight. Towards the end of this flight, the flying machine malfunctioned and we hit a small country road, at an alarming speed. There were people in vehicles and horse and carriage all scrambling to get out of the way.  I remember seeing a particular tree, with a door carved into the tree’s trunk.

This is the last part of the dream that I remember.
2008 07 20

I dreamed last night that the girls and I were living in this large house with several other women who were friends of mine.
Krissie went to SMA clinic at a small local hospital instead of at Children’s Hospital. The receipt for the services was extremely long.
Towards the end of the dream, one of my ‘roommates’ had a guest over, Dr. Levine, and we were all sitting around joking and laughing.
There was a car chase at one point, my roommates being the decoy for a celebrity (cannot remember who).
My Dream  November 22, 2002

I dreamed that I lived in this other house.. and there was a sort of bridge over the swamp/ canal to this verandah of sorts where tables and chairs were set up for visiting and eating.  The view was lovely.

Then  Mom and I go to church and there is hardly anybody there.. and we sit in the front row, and then a lot of people that I knew from Northside was there. Patti came knocking on my door later with Chicken Tetrizzini and some other dishes that I didn't open. I was in my nightgown, and her hubby and sons all saw me. They went back to the car. I was so embarrassed and made note to myself to not open door in nightgown again.

End of dream - phone rang.

Flower Shopping with Mom

I had this dream several months AFTER my mother lost her battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer.

My mom and I are at the shopping center not far from my mother's house. (where the Winn-Dixie was located on Plank Road in Brownsfield). We are shopping for flowers. After a short period of time (I am not sure how long), mom tells me that she is going to go sit on the bench at the front of the store and have a rest and that she wants to continue shopping in a few minutes. I go to look at an arrangement of flowers and then go to find Mom. She is not on the bench, and though I look everywhere for her, I cannot find her.

Unknown Child

I had this recurring dream while I was pregnant with Kaylan, my youngest.

I would be asleep in my bed and a child would climb into the bed beside me and fall asleep.

Every time I would dream this, I would awaken and look for the child, only to find the bed was empty, except for myself. I remember thinking to myself.. well.. that can't happen... Kris can't walk!

Antique Shop

This dream I had on several occasions just after Krissie was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

My home is the house on the corner of Grant Street and Inglewood Ave in Marietta, Ohio. I am the owner of one of the Antique Shops on Front Street. I have a young daughter (not Krissie) who is around 10 years of age. She loves to swing, roller skate and perform gymnastics. When her school day is over, she comes to the Antique Shop and enjoys running the cashier and visiting with the customers.

This particular dream is one of the ones to where when I would wake up, it would be like I had been living an alternate life, and had 'jumped through the mirror' back to this life.

Scientists Give Chase

I first had this dream when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter Krissie. At the time, I didn't understand why I would dream about Scientists wanting to take my child and do all those horrible tests on her. I was 19 years of age when Krissie was born, and had not even an inkling of an idea what being a Mother would be like.

I hold my child's hand as we run from one doorway to the next. We must remain unseen if either of us are to survive. There is no safe place. They must not find us. So we keep running. Finally, I see a Monorail type train in the distance. We make that our destination. We reach the train just as the doors close and it takes off. We crouch down and hope that nobody saw us. At the next stop, more people enter the train. We are recognized, so we jump out and run to find a hiding place. A kind cashier allows us to hide by her feet as the Scientists run past. After they have passed, she tells me that I must not let them get my child. That she is the key and they (the scientists) didn't care that she was a child. That they (the scientists) would 'use her up until there was nothing left'.

War in Louisiana

This is a recurring dream I had as a young girl. (late 1980s)

War is all around the community in which I reside with my family and friends. Daddy has the Southwind RV parked in the front driveway. I hear noises just outside my bedroom window and take a peek. There are all these men in camouflage with long black guns skulking about. I run and hide in one of the many compartments in the RV, behind some camping tools. When the noise subsides, I cautiously sneak out. I go to check on my brother and Mom and Dad. They have all been shot in their beds. Very quietly, I run next door. They too have been shot. The same is for all the neighbors on my street. I then go to the next street over, where one of my dearest friends lives with her family. In the front yard to their house five graves have been dug. I run and hide behind a tree and watch the men in camouflage carry my friend and her family out and unceremoniously dump them into the gaping black holes in the ground. I start sobbing uncontrollably. The men hear me and start to walk towards me.  This is where I would always wake up.

Dreams that I have had through out my life..

Most of these will be recurring dreams that I had as a child. Others will be dreams that I actually remember in the present. All of the entries are subject to be edited as I remember more details.

Hiding in an Attic

Here is a recurring dream from when I was a very young girl:

I was playing tag with a few other children in a field with tall grass. The girls were all in long plain dresses and had bonnets on their heads. We had white aprons on over our dresses.  I think there was one boy. He had on pants that came just below his knees and suspenders.  An adult in the distance shouted for us to go hide, so we all ran into the house and up the stairs. (a wooden ladder leading up) There was a tall oval mirror in the corner, a few large storage trunk type chests and a huge window. There was also a coat/hat tree near one of the trunks, and a wooden rocking chair. We all had an assigned place to hide, mine being inside one of the smaller trunks, as I was the smallest in the group. Instead of going directly to our hiding places, we all took a minute to look out the window. I saw a horse-drawn wagon pull into an area with no grass, only dirt. The man driving this wagon looked mean and had a long gun. I heard gun shots and all of us children ran to hide. I climbed into the chest and pulled down the lid.  This is where I would always wake up.
